Kristine R. didn’t need a calculator to figure out the formula to better health. After linking up with eDiets.com and shedding 82 pounds from her petite 5’4” frame, she found the answer to success in basic addition and subtraction.

By subtracting her poor eating habits and adding a healthy dining regimen, she became a vision of weight loss success, withering from a snug size 20 to a shape-flattering size 10.

The 26-year-old New Yorker had no idea how much late-night drinking and fast food outings with friends were affecting her health. It wasn’t until she saw the number 224 flash on the scale that she started calculating the repercussion of her lifestyle and nutritional choices.

She had never seen a two in front of her weight and she was ready to subtract it from the scale for good. That's a BEFORE shot of Kristine at right.

Kristine started out by examining her past experiences with dieting. She had tried Weight Watchers years before. Sure she lost a few pounds. But she always seemed to gain them right back again. The more she thought about her past trials with weight loss, the more she realized that she needed to take on a different approach.

Accepting the fact that she was ready to make the changes was one thing. Making the effort was another.

Her next step was to add up her specific needs. This included a program that dished out privacy, convenience and direction. She soon realized she needed eDiets.com and eventually its Glycemic Impact Diet.

“I liked the fact that you didn’t have to go anywhere," Kristine tells eDiets. "I liked that you could just do it from home. I think it’s very hard when you weigh a lot to go out in public.
I knew I had to get started on this and it was nice to do that in the privacy of my own house!"
As soon as she teamed up with the premier online weight loss program the numbers started falling into place. Kristine used to think that losing weight meant taking away the foods she loved but, in reality, it was about adding the things she was missing in life.

At first, adjusting to this new mentality and lifestyle took some getting used to, but gradually she began to start seeing the benefits and feeling the results.

“The first week or two I didn’t lose weight but then I started losing a little here and a little there, a pound a week maybe two," she recalls. "After maybe two or three weeks I started adjusting and getting used to the changes. It was difficult at first but I knew that if I kept going and doing the right things that the right things would happen.”

While there were moments the hard-working craft store manager got frustrated she found inspiration by focusing on her goals. She also found motivation in the array of tools offered when she logged on to her GI Diet plan.

“My favorite tool is the progress tool," she notes. "I am the type of person that needs to see it right in front of me. I need to see where I am going. I liked the fact that it projects where I would be by a certain date. It kept me going and also the BMI slider bar that shows where I was that kept me moving as well.”

Making these major transformations in her diet not only triggered weight loss but also an entire lifestyle change for Kristine. For starters, she stopped gorging on fast food late at night and completely eliminated alcohol from her diet.

She admits that before linking up with eDiets physical activity had no role in her life. Today, you can catch the new and improved Kristine at the gym more days than not.

“My mother got me a gym membership," she says. "I felt compelled to go because she had spent the money on it. I went to the gym maybe three days a week. Now I go five sometimes six times.

"I do cardio, elliptical treadmill for like 40 minutes and I also lift weights. I also joined a yoga class. The schedule of the class motivated me to go. I knew the instructor would notice if I was there or not. The best part about it was feeling sore because I knew I had done something. It made me really happy.”

Kristine now weighs 142 pounds. She only has 10 more pounds to lose to get to her goal weight.

“I had the strength and the motivation to lose all this weight," she says. "I now feel that I can do just about anything. I am going back to school. I got a promotion at work and I am much more outgoing.”
